Editorial Policy | Seedance 3
These rules cover everything the Seedance 3 team publishes on seedance-3.video, including model pages, Seedance 3.0 release notes, prompt guides, comparisons, pricing explanations, and help articles. They are meant to let a reader separate three things on any page: what our own generator does, what an upstream model provider controls, and what is still unconfirmed.
Product testing
Before a workflow description is published, someone runs through it in the live generator. That means picking text-to-video or image-to-video, attaching a start frame where the mode needs one, choosing a model from the selector, and recording the duration, resolution, aspect ratio, and credit cost it offers. Anything that hinges on a third-party model, a provider's uptime, or a specific plan is labelled that way instead of being presented as a Seedance 3 feature. Identical inputs can return different clips from one run to the next, so sample videos demonstrate a technique rather than promise a matching result.
Model sources, version notes, and attribution
Model and version notes draw on sources in a fixed order of priority. For the Seedance family (Seedance 1.0, 1.5 Pro, 2.0, 2.5, and the forthcoming Seedance 3.0) we start with ByteDance Seed's official model pages and announcements, then check documentation from platforms that serve those models, such as BytePlus ModelArk. For Veo 3.1 and Sora 2 we rely on Google's and OpenAI's own documentation, together with the docs of the API aggregators we integrate with for parameters like clip length and resolution. News coverage and third-party blogs may send us looking, but they never count as confirmation on their own.
That ordering matters most for Seedance 3.0. ByteDance has not officially released or documented it at the time of writing, so figures that circulate online about its resolution, clip length, or reference limits are either left out or described as unverified claims with their origin named. Where a statement leans materially on an outside source, we link or name that source. Model names stay the trademarks of their owners, and Seedance 3 is always described as an independent studio with no affiliation to ByteDance.
Benchmarks and model-versus-model claims
Saying that one model renders faster, moves more convincingly, or costs fewer credits per clip is treated as a measured result only when the measurement can be described. The record should list the model and version, the prompt or start frame, the settings, how many runs were made, the date, and the test conditions. Credit figures mentioned in prose have to match what the generator and pricing page show when the page goes live. If no documented method exists, the wording stays descriptive and offers no guarantee.
Dates and updates
The updated date on a page moves when its substance does: a model joins or leaves the generator, a credit price is revised, ByteDance publishes new Seedance details, or a policy clause is rewritten. Typo fixes and layout adjustments leave the date untouched. Pricing, model, and legal pages get a fresh read whenever integrations, plans, or terms shift.
Corrections
If you think something here is wrong, email support@seedance-3.video with the page URL, the wording you dispute, and a supporting source if you have one. An official ByteDance Seed page or a provider's documentation is the most useful evidence. We compare the report with primary sources, fix confirmed errors, and refresh the page date if the fix changes the meaning. When official information later contradicts an earlier Seedance 3.0 note, we revise that note to match what ByteDance has actually published.
How AI tools are used in drafting
AI writing tools occasionally help us outline a draft, condense long provider documentation, or smooth out phrasing. A team member then checks the text against how the generator behaves and against the cited sources before it is published. Text produced by a language model is never accepted as proof that a statement is true, and that applies doubly to claims about unreleased models.
Editorial ownership
